Getting your body into shape requires your dedication and discipline. You don’t have to go to the gym just to maintain your figure because you can do it at home. Your abs is part of the core muscles of your body and it serves as the foundation of all your body movement. So it is very important to make your abdominal muscles strong and firm. How to get fit abs is not that hard enough to do.
Here are steps on how to do abdominal exercise to get your abs firm.
Step #1
Lay your yoga mat or place a towel on the floor to serve as padding.
Step #2
Warm your body up by doing stair stepping, jogging, jumping jacks, and etc. for 5 minutes. The warm up exercise will help you elevate the rate of your heart.
Step #3
Do four sets of 20 (4*20) or four sets of 25 (4*25) of regular crunches. Place rolled up towel below your lumbar area for you to feel comfortable.
Step #4
Do 6 sets of leg over crunches and repeat it 20 times for every set. Rotate each of your leg on every set. You can also try doing the crossover crunches. You can perform these by placing your one leg in the air together with your knee in 45 degree angle. Let your opposite leg cross above the top of the other so that your ankle will rest over the knee. Perform the crunches regularly.
Step #5
Perform 4 sets of planks and each set must be done for 45 seconds. Put all your weight on your forearms and toes. Elevate your body from the surface while maintaining it straight like a plank and take hold of your body off the surface for 45 seconds.
Step #6
End up the exercise by performing “superman”. Perform three sets and each set must be done for 20 seconds. A superman involves laying your body using your stomach and tries to lift both your arms and legs off the ground. Keep your arms and legs off the surface and move them like flutter kick in swimming.
